Andrew Brady & Gearóid Carvill


Andrew Brady graduated from UCD Architecture in 2003, has worked in design led award-winning practices in both Australia and Dublin, is a full member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (MRIAI), is qualified in the role of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) and has a Postgraduate Certificate in Energy Efficiency in Design (EED) from TU Dublin (2019).

Having gained a variety of experience in Architecture working in Dublin, Chicago and Sydney, Gearóid Carvill, who graduated from UCD in 2000, established private practice in Dublin in 2007, is a full member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (MRIAI), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Conservation Architect Grade III (2007),  an RIAI Environmental Accreditation (2020), postgraduate Diploma in Building Performance, Energy Efficiency in Design (BP/EED) from TU Dublin (2021), a Masters (BP/EED) (2023).  Gearóid is Registered Energy Renovation Advisor with the Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) a member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland’s Sustainability Taskforce as well as the Institute’s Visiting Board of Education.

Their highly versatile award winning practise has a significant portfolio of work across a wide typology of buildings illustrating their design thinking, multi disciplinary approach, strategic analysis and design and conservation skills. A consistent methodological approach is used for each project. ABGC’s portfolio illustrates the positive transformative impact of quality design achieved through their capacity for imaginative reuse and adaptation of existing buildings, with interior health, a focus on fabric design holisticity and of realising ever more climate sensitive outcomes while also working at a variety of scales and eras, from Canal architecture to Cafés to train stations to domestic buildings from 1790 to the present.

abgc architects are a Registered Practice with the RIAI.
