We see design as having both aesthetic and function and that every piece of building construction has design possibilities in itself and in it’s wider context. We are happy to spend an afternoon at our drawing board on a gate-post, a hopper head or a tiling layout if that’s what it’s going to take to make any given project work. We understand that our clients homes or office need to be as individual as they are. We also understand that our designs have to be lived in, touched, felt, smelt, cleaned, kicked, wetted, worn, dirtied (and cleaned), dirtied (and cleaned again) for many, many years after we’ve gone.

As well as Domestic Extensions and House renovations and refurbishment, we design for Restaurants, Cafés, Shops, Boutiques & Hairdressing Salons, Art Studios, all from concept through completion; we’re working with Advertising Agencies and Telecommunication Multinationals finding unique solutions on specific projects for each client. We know what we don’t know and where the situation demands it we involve other consultants, be they specialist fabricators, Ecological Consultants or Structural Engineers to ensure we, and you, get the best advise and the right expertise. We work with other designers too; landscape and interiors, fashion designers and graphic designers. We’ve successfully completed numerous Planning Applications, Conservation Reports, Fire Safety Certificates, Grant Applications for Sustainability and Disability. We have work at all stages of construction currently on our books and are assembling a portfolio of fully realized projects that demonstrate our skill, knowledge and commitment to good design.

The practice was established with the aim of devoting 20% of working week to self directed non-commissioned projects, in areas of research and design including; furniture design & fabrication, exhibition design & installation, photography and other projects.  All subjects that we believe are related to architecture from a holistic point of view. This non-commissioned works has lead directly to commissioned projects in the same areas including exhibition design for ABSOLUT Vodka and furniture & installation design for ‘Music from Ireland’ funded by Culture Ireland & the arts council. In this way we have added a number of additional skills to our core architectural services. As the self-commissioned work migrates into the paid work, our self-directed projects continue into other areas.

We, (Andrew and Gearóid) both began our professional work experience the late 1990′s and bring almost 30 years of design and project management experience to every project. We are registered practice with the RIAI. We offer a full-service, multi-discipline, approach to the realisation of every design. We do not just produce ‘drawings’ – we design, and we use drawings, sketches, models and photographs, with built full scale samples, written specifications and other media to execute a project from inception through contract and construction to realisation. We can give you our client list and let them tell you.
