BUNSEN I

The first Bunsen, our client inspired by his work and travels across the UK & US came back to Dublin with a mission to make the perfect burger.  Inspired by the pared back interior aesthetic encountered on a recent trip to Berlin we came up with a ‘perfect’ interior to eat this perfect burger. Using simple natural materials in a focused unfussy way we used bench seating, leather seat pads and a set of bespoke copper lighting pendants we designed specifically for this interior. Walls and ceiling are painted the same colour. Outside there is minimal fascia text, though we included the street number and we gave the 2d logo a 3d iconic manifestation in lacquered steel and red neon. We’ve recently been back to upgrade the tabletops with Irish Elm sourced from John Millington Synge’s Wicklow garden and are currently working on some new cabinetry in the service area.
